2017/07/29 CBN launch 1st Wi-Fi Dual-Band Concurrent Cable Gateway in Europe

Compal Broadband Networks Inc (CBN) today announced that Telenet, the leading provider of broadband cable services in Belgium, has selected CBN's CH6541E EuroDOCSIS 3.0 Home Gateway with embedded 802.11n Wireless module to enhance the in-home wireless capabilities and download speeds within its cable network. The CH6541E Home Gateway is a future-proof product with many possibilities to enhance services to customers with a flexible gateway platform, which can economically meet growing demand for increased in-home networking requirements such as 802.11n high speed support in 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi bands, enhanced support for streaming video and other IP services delivery.

The CH6541E is the 1st Cable Home Gateway to support wireless concurrency (simultaneous support for 2.4GHz and 5GHz). Because of the chosen architecture CBN is also able to add advanced 802.11n features in its product range such as Transmit Beam forming, Space – time Block Coding to improve the range and performance for streaming applications. Previously these features were only found in enterprise products.
